Mass Effect 3 Mod: Leather Jacket for Femshep

This mod replaces the dress with a female version of male Shepard's leather jacket.
Hand texture cleaned up by Ottemis.

1. Follow the install instructions HERE

2. Run the included tpf with Texmod or the jacket will have the dress textures.

Known Issue: The Citadel DLC uses the same set of textures for the party dress.  Don't run the texmod during the forced dress scenes, or it will use the jacket textures!

  1. How tough would it be to replace a different casual outfit than the N7 dress with this mesh? It would be nice to be able to use this and the Kasumi dress concurrently.

    1. Not terribly difficult. I have the meshes ready for ME3Explorer uploaded here: http://elemods.blogspot.com/2013/07/modder-resource-upk-files-for.html
The most time consuming part would be modding the textures.

  2. The TPF file doesn't load for me through Texmod. It's probably due to the fact that I'm also running the ME3 mod pack which has replaced many of the texture file's locations.

Anything you can offer as a solution?

    1. You'll have to either install this mod over your texture pack (and deal with some regular-res clothing textures) OR replace the textures again, either with texplorer or by making a new TPF for the jacket(source files are here: http://elemods.blogspot.com/2013/07/modder-resource-upk-files-for.html)

  3. Hello, I just tried this and it worked beautifully, thank you.

I was wondering though if it would be possible to have the leather jacket replace a different casual outfit than the dress? For example the spacer/civilian outfit?

I figure the procedure would be essentially the same, but as far as I can tell the .pcc file included in your mod is a compilation of sorts of all the available casual outfits, with the leather jacket replacing the N7 dress?

Basically, I was wondering if it was a change I could make myself but I'm not a modder so I think I'd be threading very deep water there.

Anyway, thank you for sharing this mod, it's a great alternative to the dress :)

    1. It is possible to replace for example, the intro outfit (some of the other ones would be more difficult because of incompatible textures, but that's another matter.)

You are correct that all the outfits are packaged in one file.
If you're completely new to modding, it might be a bit complex, but not impossible to learn to do your own, basically you'd have to 1) Do a mesh replacement with ME3Explorer 2) Do a texture replacement for the outfit you replaced.

I've considered doing a file with both included, but that includes a bit more work for me, since the textures need to be repackaged too, and there are other things I'm working on.

My solution would be inconvenient, but not overly so, imo. If you want to use both the leather jacket and the dress for example, you can swap out your pcc files. All you need to make sure is that you run TOCBinUpdater every time. I swap PCCs quite a bit.

  5. Hi. I use XPS to pose Mass Effect fanart renders (on my deviantart, http://just-jasper.deviantart.com/), and I was wondering if you'd grant me permission to use this mesh as a casual outfit for my Shepard? It would be for personal use only, and I'd give linked credit in every instance of use.

  6. Hello!
Is it possible to release this leather jacket body in combination with Ash, jane and custom shepards in a modder's group for rendering software users on deviantART? Would be so nice.
I do not know how you created this mod, but it looks very good!

  13. you're absolutely right. It's the perfect combo! I love my white shirt dress. It's from Femshep and I've used it so many times, but there's nothing like pairing it with just basics, like a leather jacket.

  14. Thanks for this mod, but in dlc citadel it loads textures, but uses original mesh. Looks terrible, can you please make a version of this mod, winch effects on dlc dress too?

  15. Hi there! I -love- this mod! I found it a few weeks ago and I have used it a couple of times for XPS projects with my custom Shepard. Rudely enough (and being a complete newbie at all this...) I forgot to ask you if it was ok! I hope you can forgive me for that... I have given you credit and linked to this page on both occasions of course, and I will keep doing so in the future if it is all right with you. Is it all right with you...? *crosses fingers* Oh, I was almost forgetting, this is where you can find what I did: niorah.deviantart.com

  20. A lot of women have been seen wearing these shorts in the course of spinning class too. It has been said that wearing them reduces the potential of chaffing and raises the bar on looking good on a bicycle. In addition to getting popular in energetic women, they're also commonly matched with camisole tops and even worn as loungewear. Crown Royal Shorts
