8.16.2013: Edited version by anotheraza, with sideburn: project page
Sweet Jesus, I'm so glad you did this. I...attempted it (and documented it on the femshep forum with a lot of hair-pulling and capslock :P) and it was horrifying. It would've taken me a lifetime to figure out! Now my Shepper will have nice hair in all the cutscenes, yay!
ReplyDeleteWOW how u can wear that outfit?, wonderful job btw!. thanks a lot
ReplyDeleteHi, and thank you :)
DeleteI modded the multiplayer armor in while testing the ME3Explorer mesh importer. It's not a mod (yet) but shows what's possible!
I NEED THAT ARMOR PLX
DeleteHey, have you made the armor mod for this?
DeleteBecause it is awesome and would love to run it when I start playing ME3 again
WOW! Nice face :) What's the facecode for that face?
ReplyDeletep.s - Thanks for the mod! But sometimes the game crashes, but it's not so bad.
Thanks :)
DeleteI got it off the faces website: http://www.masseffect2faces.com/index.php?faceID=2564

Hi again. NativeZeros face, can you possible edit that headmorph nose so it becomes a bit more sloped like this one here:
Deletehttp://www.masseffect2faces.com/index.php?faceID=3557
i know you got your hands full but i tryed and i can´t get that nose on nativezeros headmorph. I understand Ele if you don´t have time or will to do it.
Best Regards dieselbrand
Since it's a facecode with no mods, is there a reason you can't just change the nose in the character creator?
DeleteSorry if I'm not understanding the question :)
Well the noses in creator are very ugly and i read on bioware forum that you can change the values in gibbed/Sneer values. I just can´t seem to change them so it´s visable ingame.
DeleteNativezeros is a good facecode but with your skill i was asking if you can modd it so the nose is smaller and with a fine sloped ridge, just a little bit or one of your own fine "nosejobs" like the latest one you have.
Best Regards dieselbrand
Got it. This is not something I've ever done specifically - I've moved offset bones, but changing shape to any degree usually involves editing vertices (and there are thousands.) I guess it's technically possible, but not something I'm going to take time for. Sorry!
DeleteI'd suggest trying to get closer to what you want in the character creator and then mess with the offset bones again. Maybe use that other headmorph as a guide.
Hi. Thats what i been doing with the offset bones but nothing happens. Is the x factor in sneer the only one i have to change?
DeleteSorry for the trouble Ele.
dieselbrand
No problem!
DeleteYes, the x should be the one. But in my experience the change is not going to be drastic. Sneer controls the "frown" between the eyebrows. Anything much lower is going to be all determined by the vertices.
I have a feeling that particular face you linked is mostly the result of the character creator.
Nice mod :D . Thanks for posting it Ele. I only discovered your blog a little time ago,and it's awesome! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I only created it a little time ago :)
DeleteIts awesome. I found it maybe a month ago? Im trying to get the hairstyles to work on my 360 currently. Is there a way to get Ash's hair to work properly? I have yet to find a tutorial on it besides mod files. Is there anything I could do to use it on the 360 or am I just out of luck here? Im happy with Allers hair, though I would love to get Ashs' working. Any help would be great (:

ReplyDeleteHello again! I want to put your mod's to modgames.net with the Russian description. Can you give me your permission for it? Of course, we will always be grateful to you.
ReplyDeletep.s - Sorry for my english :)
Sure, no problem! You have my permission.
DeleteOH GOD thank you ele i been looking for this mod again so i could have her hair as hair mesh instead of armor :D!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi. I noticed the mesh for Ashley’s hair includes a sideburn but it doesn’t show up in game. Do you know if this is due to the way the mesh is positioned or if it’s textured transparent or if it’s for some other reason entirely?
ReplyDeleteI got rid of it because it was the easiest way to address clipping on custom heads.
DeleteHmm, I tried replacing Ash’s sideburn with the one from the Classy mesh and it fits nicely but I think I managed to delete some important data as I wasn’t able to re-export as a psk. Maybe Texmod is the answer instead...
DeleteWell it's nearly working but the texture didn't take: http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u33/Weasel_026/SideburnError_zpsbd186528.png
DeleteLooks like you didn't combine meshes and UV Maps before exporting.
DeleteIt’s sort of fixed but I’m iffy about how I did it. I couldn’t find a way to merge the hair and sideburn meshes (I’m working with the trial version of Milkshape 3D) but renaming the mesh and material data associated with Classy to match Ashley’s hair worked. But now the hair is essentially two meshes within a single object, if that makes sense.
Deletehttp://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u33/Weasel_026/sideburnfixed_zps4147801a.png
Heh, well so long as it works imo :)
DeleteIt seems fine but I’ll test it further to make sure I haven’t messed anything up stability wise – Ashley’s meshes seem to cause more problems than other characters’ (her armour gives me no end of grief but Liara’s is fine even though they appear to be identical).
DeleteSince I used your (already stable) mod as the base rather than the original mesh, how do you feel about me releasing it once I’m sure it’s OK?
Go ahead :)
DeleteNever mind. It has the same stretching issues in certain cut scenes as the original Brooks hair mod and my trial’s about to expire. Oh well.
DeleteAha, I managed to fix the stretching issue in time and I’ve just finished a playthrough without any problems so here it is: http://social.bioware.com/project/8922/
DeleteCool! I made a link to it.
DeleteRe-asking for permission to upload the updated mod, this time to the Nexus as part of a larger mod set. Details here: http://arolheartgames.tumblr.com/post/73419379979/and-heres-a-mod-ive-been-working-on-ashley-hair
DeleteFor some reason the TOCBinUpdater does not find an update when i replace the

Hi, this is an issue with ME3Explorer. Outside the troubleshooting tips I have posted, there's not much I can do.
DeleteReally digging the hair, but I get these dark stripes if I choose I lighter base colour. The highlights don't seem to be the problem. http://i.imgur.com/ku9r0iZ.jpg
ReplyDeleteIf changing the highlights doesn't effect it, then I don't know. IIRC this hair has always had this issue to some degree.
Deletei have the same problem...suggestions? I really love this hair,i also love miranda's hair but i don't understand how use them XD sorry for my bad english
DeleteHey every time i replace the PCC File and use the ME3 Explorer i'm always stuck at the loading screen when i start the a game, and it tells me the game crashes. Am i doing something wrong? I would love to use this hair.
ReplyDeleteNevermind i fixed it
DeleteHey I have the same problem! How did you manage to fix it?
DeleteI had spaces in the gibbed part, don't copy and paste the code just type it out yourself.
DeleteThanks :)))!
DeleteHi again Ele... sorry though I got another question, well when I use ur mod, when I met Javik in his room in Normandy my femshep hair suddenly become transparent, is this Ashley Hair also has that problem?? And Is there particular reason why Diana Hair also replaced when using ur mod because I kinda annoyed seeing Diana Hairs has same hairstyles like my femshep (no offense for Diana fan out there). Thanks again though...
ReplyDeleteAll hairs have this invisibility problem, even the ones in the game.
DeleteI replaced Aller's hair because it doesn't make my game crash. Others are less consistent.
The casino versions of Ashley and Miranda’s hair have much simpler skeletons and seem to be able to replace any mesh without crashing the game - I'm guessing because they're designed for generic NPC bodies - but they only flex properly when applied to Allers. I don’t know if that’s fixable.
DeleteAlso, Ash’s casino hair hugs her body much more closely than her base game hair and so only works with certain armours and outfits.
Can you only use this hair in ME3? Or can you use it in ME2 too?
ReplyDeletethis might be me pasting it in wrong but I've go the hair (looks faboo, btw) now I have this green thing (scarf?) around femshep's neck. Has this happened to anyone else? This is the only mod I have installed atm.
ReplyDeleteOops, fixed it. Not sure how but at least it works right? ^_^
DeleteHey can you help me? Everytim i try this or the Brook's hair mod the game crashes when i load the modded save!
ReplyDeleteThx
Shouldn't there be 3 codes for Gibbed? One for Hair mesh, one for hair_diff and one for hair_mask?
ReplyDeleteThe hair_diff and hair_mask are the same code put in two different places.
DeleteYou did great work, thank you. But I'm interested, where i can get mod for this suit?
ReplyDeletehi! I have a little problem. I did every instruction (I think), I can load my save, I have a visible Shepard with Ashley hair but she has clipping issues where her hair separates two side (on her forehead). what can I do?
