    1. Hi! Thank you!
#1 is from the face website: http://www.masseffect2faces.com/index.php?faceID=2564
#2 is the default femshep headmorph I have uploaded on my original post, but that specific texture I made for my Shep and am not sharing
#3 is my ME2 import I've done unspeakable things to in lazarus and gibbed, so her save is a mess. I'd have to look for it and change some things

  4. Right?! Me too- the middle shep is SO beautiful!! Xx

  5. Oh. My. Gog. The hair is beautiful. Your Shep is beautiful. Everything is beautiful.
Um. I have been wondering. Would you consider importing some hairstyle for black ppl? Kinky/coiled hair or twists or box braids or something like that... Since the original "afro" hairdos in MEs are just... No.

    1. Hi, thank you!
And yeah, I have considered that. ME hairs are definitely lacking in that department.
Things that might keep me from doing so:
Very curly hairs are difficult to work with for a few reasons.
And finding a good one that I have permission to share.
So I'll just say it's a possibility it might happen.

    2. Try asking Nouk. Usually they're more than willing to allow modders to use their stuff and as far as ethnic hair goes, they've got awesome stuff.

  6. Thank you so much for uploading this mod! I appreciate it a lot. I was practically obsessed with getting my femshep this do. :) You're very, very great at what you do.
A quick question though... I have the hair mod implemented, now, but i can't seem to get the color to change? I went into gibbed and made it the light blonde I was looking for, but the change didn't take affect. Any suggestions? Do I have to change the mod itself somehow? (I've never actually used a mod before)

    1. Hi! Thanks!
Color change is done through Gibbed Editing only.
I'd make sure all 3 places hair color goes are good:
      HED_Hair_Colour_Vector
      Highlight1Color
      Highlight2Color
If one is really off weird things can happen.

If it's really just not changing *at all* (I'm assuming you're using the color wheel) - then I'd go into Vector Parameters and change the actual numbers.

      Delete
    2. Well, I'm not sure how I should even begin to go about changing the numbers like that. As I selected different colors in the Player<Appearance, the number in the raw section did change, but then, I open the save, and it's a dark cholatey brown. The eyebrows were changing color, but not the hair. The hair still looks like this no matter what:
      http://libbabink.tumblr.com/post/57483647327
      and this color:
      http://libbabink.tumblr.com/post/57482533015/hair-mods
Please help meee? after so much work to get it proper, the color isn't working....

      Delete
    3. The eyebrows and the hair are 2 separate values.
Are you changing the eyebrows and the hair?
      Base hair color = "HED_Hair_Colour_Vector"
      Eyebrows = "HED_Addn_Colour_Vector"

    4. Is there any way we could chat or something so this goes smoother? Because nothing I do is working... like really, I have NO idea. This is my current situation with the mod:

  8. Ugh, I am having no luck typing today. I mean, if I wanted to replace the Chakwas hair, for example, how would I go about manually replacing the hair so that I don't have to use texmod?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You would need to use meshplorer to replace the mesh first.
This is a video that goes over how it works, just skip the parts about converting to UPK.
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eGxYJ88mQhE
Second you would need to replace the hair textures with texplorer, which I am not familiar with.
More info is on the ME3Explorer forums! http://me3explorer.freeforums.org/

    3. I'm trying to replace the Custom Cute so I can still use the Brooks hair mod, haha (which actually makes Allers look better).

  9. Regarding the middle shepard, are the eyes custom?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thanks for the quick reply, and love the hair mod, trying it out right now. =) And I was also wondering, do you have any advice on how to make custom eyes?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I got the idea from voodooseason's eye mod:
      http://voodoo-season.tumblr.com/post/54154822050/mod-improved-eyes-with-multicolored-eyes-for-shepard
It has a custom eye spec so Shep's eyes are not shared with anyone.
I extracted it to get the files and edited the texture to make my own tpf.

  14. I have to say, I fell in love with this hair mod as soon as I saw it, awesome work!

But, um, I'm completely clueless when it comes to modding Mass Effect, so I, erm, ended up with this: http://puu.sh/3W6dE/bddb140e28.jpg

Followed the first two steps exactly to the letter, but I'm guessing there's a problem with the 3rd. Anyways, it says to run the included 'Textmod'. I don't have that. I mean, I didn't get that in the download. There's a .pcc file, .tfp file and a folder with two more files for manual replacement. So I downloaded Texmod and (assuming that's what I am supposed to do) picked ME3 exe file as application and the .tpf file from the mod( http://puu.sh/3W6Nt/ae02fa678b.png ) and that's when green skin happened.

When I say I have no experience whatsoever with modding ME3, I do mean it. None. Doesn't exist. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

    1. It looks like you put BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Hair_Short02.HMF_HIR_PROShort_Diff
in HED_Scalp_Diff instead of HAIR_Diff (the green is the hair texture.)

      I hope this helps!

  15. Hi ELE, this style is awesome.
Unfortunately, I have the feeling that something is wrong.
The front view is good, but the side, the rear view and Allers looks creepy.
The PCC file was installed and updated by TOCBinUpdater. TexMod with the TPF file is also running. Still, it looks different than on your images. Especially the view on the screen at the Puffy Vest Mod.
What am I doing wrong or it must be so?
Here is a picture how it looks like

    2. This looks correct. It's very shiny - that can be changed in Gibbed.

Aller's is going to be messed up because I replaced her hair - the source files are included if you want to try and replace a different one that won't conflict.

  16. Thank you for your quick response. I will test it with less shine :-)

  18. I actually had a question, since I didn't see any other way to contact you. Most of my attempts at finding a tutorial to swap one hair mesh for another as you did with Brooks and Allers have resulted in nothing.

I'd love to know how you went about doing them, as I'm wanting to do some swapping for my Sheploo- there are absolutely zero mods for them, and I was wanting to swap out a mesh for Leng's hair.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hi! You follow the same basic process as outlined in this tutorial:
      http://ottemods.blogspot.com/2013/07/tutorial-porting-hairstyles-using-3ds.html
Except instead of porting a mesh from another game you'll be using Leng's hair (so in principle it should be easier.)

  19. I'm loving this hair style. One small issue though. With armor on, the bottom section of the hair is cutting off much higher than where it would've been touching with the armor. Any idea on how to fix? Hope my explanation wasn't too confusing.

    2. Sorry it took so long to reply.

Here's the hair in casual attire, no issues:
      http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2d0i3p0&s=5

Here's the hair with default N7 armor on, with the clipping issue:
      http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2ezh5kn&s=5
      http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2qx2mpf&s=5

Probably a negligible issue for most people, but I'm a bit anal. If you had a fix for this I'd be very appreciative.

      Delete
    3. Ok, thanks. I can't tell if it's just clipping and looks shorter (subtle enough that its hard to tell w/o a front view) - but, it shouldn't be moving. I weighted everything to the head, which means it doesn't flex, but I could be wrong, weirder things have happened. If it is just clipping into the armor, that's sometimes unavoidable.

So unfortunately, this isn't something I'm going to work on because I'd have to repack *everything* and I don't think this is something I can fix.

      Delete
    4. When the armor's on, it appears to have a sideways "V" portion cut out of the side of the hair. You can kind of see it in the third pic. I'm surprised nobody else noticed it (unless it's just an issue on my setup). Does this occur when you use the mod?

Anyways I appreciate the reply, and I understand you not wanting to dig too deep into an unknown issue. Keep up the good mod work.

      Delete
    5. Alright, I installed the hair to check it in-game and it appears to be working as intended.
I haven't had any comments about it elsewhere - it looks like what you're describing is the result of seeing the hair at a different angle when Shepard has her weapon out, in combination with the bottom part of her hair being hidden by the armor.

  20. Is there some way I could get this hair in psk files?

    1. Ah i see, is it because the x360 version doesn't have the hair code information? That's a real pity through. Oh well time to wait for me4

    2. It's because these are completely new hairs - the ME3Explorer toolset used to create them can only edit PC game files.

  23. Is there a tutorial anywhere with a guide to replacing a different hair with this one? I'd like to use both the brooks mod and this one at the same time on different saves. If it's possible please let me know, thanks so much.

  25. I stumbled upon this great blog and I gotta say you have done yourself awesome job for this works and deserve lot of kudos! Gotta question though, I have 2 femshep, I planned to use two different hair for them, and regarding the PCC files Do I need to replace and update each time I use the hair or just need to use one time only, since when I download the hair mod there are different PCC files.. Anyway keep up the good work, You just made me your fans!!

    1. Hi, thanks so much!
You can't use both PCC files at the same time so you need to switch them and update the TOCBin every time you want to switch hairs.

  26. Sorry I got another question though, when I use one of the mod, it also affect NPC, well can it be made specific into Femshep only?? I using Cool Sims hair by the way and it also make Diana Allers Hair same like my femshep. Is there any solution for that??

    1. Not if you use this mod.

It is possible to try and replace a different hair, I don't because this is the most stable, others have caused crashing.

  29. Hi,

Really love this style, but no matter how hard I try - my game just keeps crashing each time after I try to load with this hair.

I've done multiple custom hair styles and mods before no issues. Doing this one just as others, but sadly can't get it to work :/ So sad, it looks beautiful

    ReplyDelete
  30. The texture doesn't seem to fully apply. Upon reviewing the instructions, it says to "Run the included Textmod." I'm not quite sure what that means, and I've doublechecked all the other steps. Could you clarify please?

  32. Hey, great mod and every thing. Anyway I applied your mod but I have some issues. Everything is fine but the color. My Shepard is blond but somehow the mod turns her hair black. How do I fix this?

  33. This hair practically saved my shep from looking drab, many thanks!
A quick question: Are you using any lighting mods (at least in these screenshots?) The scalar in the first pic is gorgeous, so yeah, yknow? Thanks again!

  34. I do not speak very well in english, so use Google-translator, sorry.

Installation mod took me about three hours (in another language is really difficult to understand - I'm from Ukraine), but it's stood.
Within two minutes of the game, I forgot about all the burden to install.

ELE08, a huge, HUGE thank you for such a wonderful mod!
